Michael K. Simmons

Michael K. Simmons, a native of Florida, moved to Huntsville in 1984 to be the Director of University Relations at UAH. In 1989, he joined the Public Affairs Department at Marshall Space Flight Center. He was President of the North Alabama Chapter and winner of the Phillip J. Forest Practitioner of the Year Award.

Mike was always an active member of our chapter even during the last year of his struggle with cancer. He lived a life of strong faith and willingness to share his professional talents with seasoned and in-coming professionals. Mike practiced his craft with the highest of integrity and was respected, admired and trusted by all of us. The North Alabama Chapter established the memorial scholarship in 1994 to honor and keep alive the spirit of Mike's professional generosity.
