| As part of our mission to help public relations students, the North
Alabama Chapter supports two student chapters, one at the University
of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) and one at the University of North
Alabama in Florence (UNA). Active student chapter members network
with members of the professional chapter, which often has led to
wonderful job opportunities in north Alabama.
Each school’s student chapter has a faculty academic advisor, and there is a professional chapter board member dedicated to assisting the academic advisor with information to and from the professional chapter. Activities within the student chapters include regularly scheduled chapter meetings, guest speakers, an annual awards competition, reduced pricing for attending the PRCA State Conference, and academic scholarships through the North Alabama PRCA Chapter’s Michael K. Simmons Scholarship. PRCA supports chapters at schools that award degrees in the field of communications. If you are interested in joining one of these chapters, contact the academic advisor.
