Details About Our Members

The Public Relations Council of Alabama (PRCA) is the state's longest operating and largest group of public relations practitioners.  The North Alabama Chapter was established in 1973 and has become one of the most active chapters in the state.

We have about 70 active members representing dozens of organizations, including corporations, non-profit organizations, government and educational institutions, media, PR firms and freelance professionals.

Our SPRF Affiliation

PRCA is affiliated with another regional organization called The Southern Public Relations Federation (SPRF) which has 900 members in four states.

SPRF includes:

  • The Public Relations Council of Alabama (PRCA)

  • The Public Relations Association of Louisiana (PRAL)

  • The Public Relations Association of Mississippi (PRAM)

  • The Emerald Coast Chapter

All PRCA members are automatically members of SPRF. SPRF holds an annual conference and recognizes outstanding work with Lantern Awards. SPRF is also the organization that allows PRCA members to participate in the universal accreditation (APR) process administered by PRSA (Public Relations Society of America) in New York.
